The standard

Sourced, verified, graded

One fixed rule, applied the same way every week — so an entry earns its place in the archive rather than simply appearing there.

01 — Sourced

Two tiers of source

Tier 1 sources — the federal record, the courts, the wires, and four broadsheet news desks — can carry a claim alone. Everything else is a surfacing that must be corroborated.

02 — Verified

Carried or corroborated

An event is verified when a Tier 1 primary source stands behind it, or when two or more independent news desks report it. Single unverified surfacings are held back.

03 — Graded

Archive-grade = verified AND relevant

Only events that are both verified and positively judged democracy-related are shown. The rest are retained with their status, ready for promotion.
